What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

It helps when preparing a quote to know the following things from the customer: Type of food required e.g hot buffet, plated meal, canapés, finger buffet etc. Where the event is it to be held e.g. In a private home, hired hall, outdoors. Kitchen facilities available and their type, number of guests, if they need to work within a budget, if waitress service is required. Nature of the event e.g. Wedding, party private dinner.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise them to talk to the professional about their needs, some of us offer a bespoke service and will make catering suggestions based on the customers budget and food preferences. This ensures a better quality of service and happier customers.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Whilst I loved working as a chef, I rarely had the opportunity to meet the customer eating my food. Running my business the way I do, enables me to meet my clients and ensure that we give them a positive experience. This makes me happy.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have used other agencies to bid for work but I find Add to Event works best for me because they glean the best information from the customer at the initial inquiry stage. From my perspective it means that I am able to respond to the inquiry with a good idea of what the customer is looking for. A hen party I catered for last Summer is an example of this. I had a great awareness of what the customer needed from the outset and made the event a stress free, pleasurable experience for them and for us.
