What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to give out a quote the main details we need are: location, date and time, number of guests and a rough budget. Typically we will quote our events based on a number of guests multiplied by hours of service, this can give a base quote before needing more details. After we establish the basics we then need details such as: outdoor/indoor, menu requests, event type and any other requests our customers may have.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The first thing I would suggest before contacting anyone would be to have a loose idea on a budget they are willing to spend. As all event types are different in regards to guest numbers and quality desired, this can dictate the supplier you are looking for. For example, a wedding would likely have a higher average budget than a small birthday party and a wedding may also require a higher quality of the supplier. After a decision on quality and budget is made, then it's down to finding the best quality of service vs quantity of product possible for the budget decided.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

After working in and managing cocktail bars for other people in the past I have found a passion for bartending and mixing as well as running the back end of the show. I took time to figure out how I could make the most of my passion for bar and skills for mixing/menu design and decided that I should go down the mobile bar route after consulting with the people I am close to. After a short time hosting a month-long pop-up event at a friends local upmarket bar, I then created our mobile bar with the goal of creating the quality I wanted to serve but at any location.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My favourite event that we've attended through Add to Event would have to be the recent wedding we took part in during early December. The organiser was the bride and she was so easy to work with that it made things a joy to work on, I even created a bespoke designed menu just for the event as I enjoyed working with the client so much. The venue that the wedding was held at was so amazing and the staff/event planners were so fantastic to work for. It was such a good looking, beautiful and well-kept venue down by the canal in Birmingham city centre, we've since had discussions about future ideas as they liked us so much.
