What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide you with the best cost for the job, we need to know the date of the event, times, age range of children or guests, whether it is an indoor or outdoor event, and if you are paying a fee to us or are looking for a provider to pay a pitch fee and then charge guests for the service.

We also need to know if you have any special requirements such as a theme, or if you would like us to quote for other types of artists, such as balloon modellers, glitter tattoo artists or body painters. We have access to a large roster of artists and can cater for events, large or small!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look at the providers Add to Event profile, reviews, website (if they have one) and social media to make sure they provide just the right type of service for your needs. And get in touch with them, ask questions about what they can provide, you'll know pretty quickly if they are the best match for you.

You may also wish to see a copy of their public liability insurance, check to see if there are any hidden charges (perhaps check if they charge for set-up time or travel on top of their fee?)

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I've been a face painter for over 15 years, it started out as an enjoyable sideline to working in a costume shop and being a theatrical make-up artist. Since then it has grown and I have recently rebranded to Fizz Pop Face Painting as I wanted a fresh look for the business.

Alongside running Fizz Pop I'm a freelance illustrator so I bring my creative flair to my face painting work. I also really enjoy working with children, seeing a wide, happy grin on their faces when I reveal the finished design is very rewarding :)

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I recently had a booking for a children's party which was very enjoyable. The clients were very friendly and all their guests gave great reviews of my work. Plus they made me a cuppa as soon as I arrived which was great! ;)

The client was very happy with the service I provided and the quality of work, she would like to use my services again in the future.
