What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a quote we needs as much information as possible, A good place to start is by providing the date, time, number of guests, the type of event and the location. We would also need to know if the event is outside and if shelter will be provided so we can factor this into your quote. With this information, we will be able to assess your needs and ensure that the quote will cover all areas of our services so you not be left with any surprise bills later on or disappointed guests on the day of your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Lots of people face-paint as a hobby and that's great, but you need to ensure whoever you hire is insured and following health and safety. Ask for a copy of the artist's PLI and risk assessments to make sure. Look at examples of the artists work and ask if that's their own work they've displayed. Professional face painters will always be able to provide images. Ask them why they picked the images they did, as this will give you a feeling of how they will engage with your guests.

When providing services such as face painting, there are a lot of unseen costs that a face painter has to cover. Keep this in mind when setting your budget for services such as ours. If you find a provider much cheaper, consider why they are charging less. Are they using lower quality products for example?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I set up Impeccable Parties after working for other companies providing face painting for over a decade. I experienced frustration working for other companies, not having the correct information at times from the agent and often arriving to parties to find upset mums because I'd been given the wrong start time for example. I felt people deserved better! I called the company Impeccable Parties as I wanted people to know that it was important to me to get their booking 100% right. Now I am able to make sure my customers are happy. My customers are surprised about that, they think the name is a reflection to the quality of my face painting, which of course is a massive compliment. My customers mean the world to me, they are the reason I have been able to follow my dreams and have a full time career which I love.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had some lovely party bookings and I am very excited about an upcoming corporate booking on Father's Day. Every booking is just as important to me as any other. Every job has gone well, often with further bookings coming directly from others.
