Howe & Co Fish and Chips have been cooking traditional Fish and Chips since 1930 and now provide these in their state of the art purpose-built vans all under 3 years old served by professional and uniformed staff. Here they also supply some useful advice gained over the years on what to check when booking a caterer.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event you are hosting and a number of guests, and a potential venue, please.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I always think quality and presentation is key.
The last thing I would want is a tatty old van turning up so I would always ask about the age of the equipment, for instance, we spent almost £80,000 on ours I think it gives you a level of confidence that the investment is there so you should expect quality.
I would also check to make sure that the chips are fresh and not frozen or chilled they don't taste the same at all.
Also, ask where the produce is sourced I think local ingredients are a must.

I have had many years in business and Howe & Co offered me a real alternative.
It such a great business to be involved with offering the highest quality in food and service it really helps bring events and communities together.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Wow, tough question we have had so many events but I think one of our favourites has to be The Reject Brotherhood annual Drink drop and Doss.
Fantastic people great atmosphere it was such a giggle for me and the Team, it didn't feel like it was work at all, we are doing it again this year and we can't wait.
