What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise looking through the suppliers listed in Add to Event and reading their reviews.

Also, it is important to talk to the supplier over the phone to get a general feel for their work ethic, passion and general disposition. Really you want the vendor to be passionate about the product that they sell, because if they are excited about their food then so will you be. Passion is infectious!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have always been passionate about food and I was always in the kitchen cooking up new recipes and learning about various cuisines. When looking for inspiration to help me get some ideas for a food business, I accidentally stumbled upon a food festival in Brooklyn (NYC) on a 30th birthday treat from my girlfriend and I saw that the biggest queues were for the fries vendors. I had to try these locally famous chips! They were amazing, but I could see room for improvement. I borrowed the idea and tweaked a few things to make it appealing to the English pallet. After only a year, I was fully booked up for weddings, functions and corporate lunches. Mainly thanks to Add to Event!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had many bookings from Add to Event. This is how I got started with the private bookings and it gave me a boost to see me through the quiet winters and even two years ahead with weddings etc.

One particular booking I had was for a school for kids with learning difficulties in Lincoln. They now book me four times per year and have recommended me to their sister schools, which means I now receive 8 bookings per year just from sending one initial quote. I always recommend Add to Event to my catering colleagues and it always pays off with extra credits!
