What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Hi, We would need to know firstly what type of event it is be it Birthday, Wedding, Corporate Event etc. Then we would need to know the type of food you require and your budget. Of course, we also would need your location. We can then design a menu just for you be it Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Meaty etc.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would ask them to send me a copy of their current menus and ask them about other events that they have catered to. I would ask them if I could come along to one of their public events and try out the product and of course, meet them. This will give you a better feel for the person you are dealing with.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I sold a larger food business a couple of years ago but wanted to still continue to work with food as it has always been my passion ever since childhood!
I bought my cute Caterpod on eBay and brought it back from Manchester. We gutted it and renovated the whole thing inside and out and it now looks great.
I really enjoy making great food and talking to the public. It has been wonderful to build up a regular clientele who want your food week in and week out. They enjoy the food and I get to find out a little about them. What's not to love!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Every time I am already booked, I send prospective customers to the Add to Event website in the hope that they will find someone to cater their party. I did that just yesterday in fact!
Even though we have been in lockdown forever I did manage to cater a wedding at a local vineyard and I believe their recommendation is currently on the Add to Event website.
I get most of my bookings through word of mouth but am planning to work even harder and use the website much more in the future.
