Abbey Ice Cream provides real dairy ice cream, real fruit sorbets and dairy-free/vegan ice cream served from a bespoke pink ice cream pod or tricycle! Based in Lancashire, they are plastic-free, the tubs are compostable and spoons are made from birch wood. They cater to everything from music festivals, agricultural shows and local fundraising events and weddings.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quote to a customer, ideally we need a date, venue and estimated number of guests. Any food intolerances are really helpful.
Indoors or outdoors? A power supply is a must for the tricycle.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You get what you pay for! If something is very cheap, it is probably cheap for a reason! Try and find reviews and comments on the provider's service and products.
With my business, we serve a quality product, a generous portion all at a reasonable price.
We provide a toppings table that guests can help themselves to. This includes chocolate flakes, sprinkles, fudge sticks marshmallows....

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Abbey Ice Cream was created as I have a real love of 'Wallings' ice cream! I have attended many events over the years, and am so disappointed when there is a soft-serve ice cream van there. I thought - surely there must be a better way?
Working in an office for years, I wanted to address my work/life balance. I love meeting people and making them happy serving them amazing ice cream. I see so many happy faces when out and about! It really is my dream job!
I bought my 'pod' from a British company that made it for me, exactly how I wanted it. Supporting British businesses, local where possible in a sustainable way is very important to me

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had many bookings through Add to Event, I find it a very easy system to use. It is a great platform for my business, and cost-effective too.
I love the reviews as well. You are only as good as your last job!

One event that comes to mind was recently in York. We attended the first County Cricket Match to be held in York for over 100 years! We were so busy we had to re stock 3 times!
