What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask about the equipment you are looking to hire, how many tracks, mics etc and do they provide
all equipment necessary? What decades and genres of music they can provide? I would always shy away from a request that asks for music I'm not familiar with, for instance I wouldn't do a reggae/karaoke disco. I
like reggae but I don't know enough about it to claim I could host a reggae disco. I made this mistake once very early on and vowed never to do it again. Having someone who can play the right music is obviously essential and the key to an enjoyable night. Disco providers should ask about music choice and make sure they have a playlist accordingly.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started singing karaoke 12 years ago and have loved it from the start. I started building my
collection of karaoke tracks early on and after standing in for a friend for 2 weeks, I got hooked and started my own business as a karaoke host. There is always a need for a disco at a party until people get the courage to get up so my business evolved to become karaoke/disco. I noticed a gap in the market for karaoke equipment hire and decided to expand, I am looking to expand further in the future as I am customer focused and my business ethos is to provide value for money .

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had several bookings through Add to Event and I enjoy them all. The one that stands out most is the street party that was thrown by a lady who had terminal cancer and was approaching her 70th birthday. She decided to throw a karaoke street party and invite as many people as she could. A good time was had by all and I had a great time doing it.
