What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Firstly, I need to know the date, time and location of the event. Then a brief description of the type of event it is, such as a wedding, a party or a corporate event for example. It would be ideal if the customer could provide details of what they would like me to do and for how long, such as doing strolling magic with the guests or a private show. Information on whether guests will be seated or standing and whether there will be music, and the times that guests will be eating (if they are), is also very useful.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are looking for a magician for your event, check out their website first. Check to see how professional it looks. See if they have any videos of them performing or audiences reacting to their magic. Looking at their social media sites such as twitter, facebook and youtube can also be a good indication of how good an entertainer they are.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been performing magic professionally (getting paid for it!) for nearly a decade now. It is only in recent years that I have set up a website and various social media sites to manage the amount of requests and bookings that I get. I wanted to present a professional look and show potential clients that when they book me they are ensuring the very best in magical entertainment!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have only recently started using Add to Event. In the first month, I have received 3 bookings that I will be performing at shortly and am negotiating several more. So far the experience has been excellent and I would recommend using their easy to use site to generate bookings and interest.
