What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a comprehensive quote I just need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event, the estimated number of guests, and an idea of the location. I'll then know enough to be able to suggest performance length and type, and a price.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Try to get an idea of the amount and type of experience a performer has. Many magicians have full-time jobs and just do magic as a sideline to earn a bit of extra cash. You can usually observe their lack of professionalism and inability to adapt to a new situation when they're working for you, but by then it's too late!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

As a child, I was always fascinated by magic, but it wasn't until my late teens that the 'misdirection' and psychological aspects of the art really captured my imagination. In order to improve my skills, I had to practise on strangers. After many years of practice, these strangers began to ask me to perform at their parties. The rest is history...

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I'm relatively new to the site; I've had a handful of bookings but they're all in the future. The first is at the end of this month. I cannot wait to report back!
