What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for us to provide a quote for an event, we would usually ask for the date of the event, the amount of time we would be required, how many people will be attending or how many dishes would we be required to provide. It also helps for us to know the location and type of event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ask for proof of insurance and hygiene scores, they should be a minimum for any food provider to be able to provide. Make sure to get a contract up front for your event, it's always better to be safe than sorry, especially if you're planning an important event. Check out the Mexican mobile caterer's social media presence and reviews. Try and clear up any questions before committing, and make sure the finer details are taken care of - i.e. rubbish disposal, if electricity is required or not, how long they require to set up etc.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We started the business due to a mixture of a love for Mexican food and wanting to leave our jobs to start our own business and to be our own boss. We built the company from the ground up, converting our van ourselves with the help of our families, and now get to tour the country putting a smile on people's faces. Being a part of people's big days, and wonderful community events, helping make them a success and adding a little something special to the day.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We recently took part in a local community festival day that was raising money for their community group. We would never have found it had it not been for Add to Event. While we expected it to be a small gathering of local people, it turned out to be our busiest and best event to date. We had to make an S.O.S call for more food to help us feed the wonderful people in attendance and didn't stop cooking all day. We also got to meet some fantastic people, enjoy the great atmosphere of the day and help raise money for a great cause. We regularly come across some fantastic events through the platform and would not be anywhere near as busy if it wasn't for Add to Event and we would recommend it to any trader!
