What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide the most accurate quote for our customer we need to know the event date, number of guests, bar running times and event location including postcode. It helps to have more information on the venue, including if there is running water and space for storage. From this we can provide an accurate quote with no extra costs and successfully fulfill the customer's expectations.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are looking for a mobile bar service I would check the style of the bar set up so that it suits your event. These days the bar should look good, and not just serve drinks! Next I would have a look at the quality and range of drinks on offer, and check they fit with your crowd. You know your guests best! Lastly check that all licenses are covered and ask for some testimonials.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Alternative Events started from a background of working at festivals for over 10 years. My partner and I have managed cafes and bars at festivals around the UK. In 2012 we organised our own wedding and really enjoyed the process, this led to wedding focused services. We have all the experience necessary to run bars in any venue, be it a warehouse, a field or a hotel. We love working at weddings as you get a lovely insight into people's lives and everyone is there to celebrate.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We are relatively new to this platform, so we advertise a lot through wedding blogs and this sort of platform is a first for us. We were attracted to it as it straightforward to use and allows you to pay as you go. The pages are well laid out and give you the opportunity to add lots of information. We look forward to the bookings rolling in!
