What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to give a comprehensive quote we need to know: the number of guests; the type of event; the event location and the event date. From this, we can provide a realistic quote for your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The key thing I think is finding a caterer who is passionate about what they do and the food they make. Ask the provider about the types of food they serve and whether they make everything themselves. Also, ask about their experience and whether they can share any feedback from other people who have booked them before. Strike up a conversation with them and see how quickly they respond to your queries and whether they will accommodate all the needs you have. You'll soon learn how professional they are and whether they are suitable for your event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Philip started Punk Tacos in 2019 following a 20-year-old love of Mexican cuisine and a realisation that there wasn't a great deal of good quality Mexican food in the area. Punk is about not conforming. Our menu features classic street food that you’d find in Mexico – some things should never be messed with. From that traditional Mexican foundation, we’ve also developed innovative and signature recipes which build on those great flavours and also draw from our love of other great cuisines from the Middle East and India.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Our first booking on Add to Event was a wedding and was also the first wedding we'd catered at. Communication from the client was excellent throughout and we decided on a menu which would suit there theme and guests. We served 130 hungry guests at the end of the day and everyone was keen to let us know how good the food was. The bride took the time to send us some great photos the next day and left us a lovely review of the experience. I'd certainly recommend the platform to others.
