What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a full and accurate quote ideally I need to know the date, venue, event type and running times. If it is a venue I am unfamiliar with, then the number of guests helps me to understand how much equipment will be required. Also letting me know if you require any additional extras such as mood lighting allows me to take everything into consideration for your quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, don't just listen to what the DJ tells you. Look at what other reviewers are saying - people who have booked them and went through the process. If the supplier has glowing reviews from lots of happy customers then that's a great sign, if there is anything that doesn't seem quite right then your gut feeling is probably right. It is best to have a solid idea of you want your event to be and check if the DJ can fulfil your wishes. Let them know the type of music you would like to hear and if you have any other special requests.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have always loved music. At 17, I sort of feel into DJ'ing when my brother took on a job to DJ a pub without really knowing what he was doing, so I learned enough to help him get by and from then my passion for it grew. I decided from an early point to specialise in weddings as this was one field I felt I was incredibly good at and it was great to be a major part in the biggest day of so many people's lives. Through hard work and progression I have built my business up over the years to be one of the most highly respected and rated DJs in our industry.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

To date I have secured 2 bookings from the site, but they are weddings in the future so I can't accurately comment on how they went. The process in dealing through the site has been very straightforward and once I am in contact and the brides and grooms have decided to book me then I revert back to my standard booking process. Both methods flow seamlessly back and forth.
