For a wedding, I really need to have the following information in order to give a firm price, date, time and place. If more than one location is involved then the distance of travel is helpful. I then also need information on how long you anticipate you will need me for this could be simply "prep through to first dance". I then need some indication of the sort of products you are interested in. It is very tempting to say "all files on a USB" however this really is selling yourself short and leaving the job half done. If you want a quality product that will last into future generations then please ask to have a conversation about products.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always look carefully for experience, references and most importantly make sure you can get to meet the supplier before the wedding. Think about it you (bride) will spend a lot of time with your photographer so make sure you can get along with him/her. Finally make sure you think about what you want from photography on your wedding day, what is more important to you - spending time with your guests or perfect portraits of yourselves or both!!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I'm passionate about photography and people. A wedding is a perfect event because I get to watch people for many hours and then create images that individuals will treasure for the rest of their lives. I have the best job in the world I get to spend whole days with people who are celebrating one of the best days of their lives. It is worth noting that a lot of couples have me back to create images of pregnant bumps and newborn babies.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I've not had any booking yet through this platform. However, I recently shot a wedding in Glasgow where my flight from Nottingham got cancelled leaving me having to drive through the night. I arrived a few hours before I was due to shoot the bride's prep. The day was fantastic if a little cold with snow falling. The wedding was beautiful and all was well. The couple now has a gorgeous album and some great wall art.
