What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide the most accurate quotation possible, we would need the planned date and rough time of eating, plus the expected number of guests. It would be handy to have information as to the type of event and if there was any "theme" running through the party (I try to incorporate any theme into the personalised menu I would create for you). Equally, if you could advise if the event is inside or outside and if there is adequate off-road parking, that would help.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The first thing is to be realistic as to what you want. For example; It is no good asking for a hog roast for 20 people - even the smallest of pigs will feed 60-80 people and so the price, per head is going to be huge. Likewise consider if you went to the pub and ordered a three-course meal, excluding drinks it is going to cost you at least £15 per head, so asking for a private chef or caterer and giving them a budget of £3-£5 per head is just not going to work out.
Lastly please give as much information as you can - concerning likes and dislikes - just saying "The host likes food" is not very helpful!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Many years ago I was a chef and then went into another industry (Commercial Aviation). When I retired from that business I went back into the pub world. It was whilst there that I was asked if I could cook for a group of individuals on a weekly basis. Of course, I said that they would be most welcome at the pub. It turned out that this client wanted me to come and cook for them but they had no catering facilities. This got me thinking..... and hence The Mobile Lunch Company came into existence! A totally unique concept of a fully equipped mobile kitchen that is totally independent and where I can exercise my passion for food I can produce meals, anywhere!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is one of the possible platforms that suppliers can use. Unlike others, it is reasonably priced and produces a plentiful supply of leads. I have various bookings via Add to Event and am sure I will get others.
