Cotinis - Coffee and Prosecco is a social enterprise, mobile horsebox coffee bar business that through its proceeds, aims to help reduce homelessness within its local area. They offer coffee in country parks and high streets on a day to day basis, as well as offering alcoholic package deals for weddings, birthdays, Corporate days/events and more. Read on to find out how they started and what they suggest you check in a prospective provider.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We would like to know the following to give an accurate quote:
1. Number of guests
2. Duration of event
3. Type of service required (coffee, prosecco or cocktails) or bundle services (2 or more of the services together)
4. Date of the event
5. Indoor or outdoor event
6. Power and water availability
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Customers need to be sure about the service they are asking for. With the coffee offer, understanding that the provider may need both power and water access at the event. Asking for a sample menu of the drinks can sometimes indicate to you the calibre/ level of skill of the barista. For alcoholic services, usually when this is available with draft drinks, they may work better for larger events as well as being more cost-effective.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Cotinis was created as a vehicle to give back to the community. With a background in coffee over the last 8+ years, I thought to bring my skill set to something that means something. Cotinis uses its profits to help sponsor and support 16-15-year-old young adults struggling with homelessness. Working closely with a Doorway Charity, we hope to grow the business so to help more people.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have had some great interactions and even though COVID has disrupted the events industry, I have managed to book a couple of events this September as well as some in 2021. I would recommend using Add to Event as its given so many opportunities and is easy to use. Where possible I would share this platform to help others find events as well as plan events.
