What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a quote for an event, we need to know the date and location, the number of guests, the size of the venue, the type of event they are hosting and the length of the set required. From this information we can work out the correct gear and the right music to compliment the event and give the client our best service.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When hiring a singer I think it's a good idea to see live videos without a lot of production so that you can get a realistic expectation of what they can deliver at your event. If someone sounds great on a phone you know they will sound even better live, however if they have heavily produced vocal production on their videos this could be very misleading. You will also want a good PA system at your event because that will have a big impact on the quality of the sound delivered, therefore I would check with the singer if this is something they provide and are confident in using.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Performing has been something that I have always been drawn to which is why I never tire of singing at events and why I started this business. It is fantastic to earn a living from something I enjoy so much. My main focus is ensuring that I create the right feel for the event and making my clients happy. With a BA hons in Songwriting and being a Home Recording Academy Ambassador I have the sufficient knowledge and ear to create a wonderful sound in any venue.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Singing at a variety of gigs from Add to Event with Ken Weaver as part of a Duo. We have performed at some incredible venues and had a lot of good experiences. From golf clubs, tennis clubs, social clubs and private parties in mansions. My favourite booking was in a mansion for a 40th birthday where we were welcomed with open arms. Having a platform like Add to Event has allowed both the supplier and client to have trust in each other.
