The Funky Pickle Co. offer a tantalizing and unique menu that would suit any event, festival, wedding or private party. They are a couple of cool transplanted Canadians from Alberta who have custom-built a colourful food truck offering a wild and untamed all Canadian inspired menu. Read on for their story!

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote we need to know the date of the event, the type of event, the location, the number of guests and which menu items they would like included in the quote. Is the event indoors or outdoors and are there any special diet requirements. From this information, we will be able to give them an accurate quote and be able to deliver a great food experience.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider what menu items are available, what their background/experience is, what facilities they will be using to prepare the food and their food hygiene rating. Ensure that you are getting quality food that is prepared in a clean and hygienic environment and that the van or kiosk is pleasing to the eye and appealing to your audience.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We are a couple of Canadians that left the Corporate world in Canada to pursue our passion for cooking and travel in the UK. Returning to the birthplace of one of the partners, Bob, we set out to create a funky and fun mobile food truck that would specialize in our comfort foods from Canada and serve up all Canadian street food. We love sharing our passion and home favourites with the British folks.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have found that this is a great platform for getting bookings. We have had quite a few and it is very hard to pick a favourite as all have been totally different experiences with amazing people. We have had a few that were Breweries and taprooms and we have had a blast at those as our food pairs very well with a pint. Every event has been Funky, Fresh n Fun and we have had excellent feedback at every one of our events and would highly recommend Add to Event to any trader out there to expand your business.
