What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
First thing, would be location as that would determine if we could give a quote. The rest of the details required, would be number of guests and what type of event it will be. Thirdly, if there is easy access to the building and if there is electricity onsite.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise to dig deeper prior to accepting a quote and not judge on the best price but quality and reassured service. Some providers may not be using using their own photos to advertise a service, so don't hold back in asking for more photos of previous work if it does not match their social or web page. Looking into hygiene and safety procedure is also key.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I've been into dessert making from a young age and enjoy sharing my passion at various events. Alongside desserts, I enjoy decorating baby showers, weddings etc. and making each event beautifully personal to the clients eye is highly rewarding. I have found that both desserts and event decorating worked so well for my line of business.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We had one large event at a corporate's head office. They booked the waffle stand for 1000 guests over a 5 hour period. We had to aim for a very high standard, as we would at any event. Due to the number of guests we had lined up, we could not afford to do badly. With some extra time management and detailed structure everything went smoothly. Everyone was positive about our service, and it was reassuring to see constant smiles at every turn. In return we got positive feedback on our reviews from the client and some personal bookings.
