What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide a comprehensive quote to our customers, we need to know some key details. These include the event dates, a brief explanation of the event (including any planned activities such as fun fairs, bouncy castle, fireworks etc.), how many guests they are expecting, the potential venue. It is always helpful for us to know what level of cover you are looking for, this can generally come from cover that you have been provided previously, or the level of cover agreed in your Event Safety Plan. From this, we can use our experience, guides and legislation to tailor your perfect quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the provider about the cover that they are providing, quotes for medical cover should be influenced by 'The Purple Guide'. Depending on the type of event, there may be some contingency built in to allow for unexpected incidents or for resources having to leave site for hospital transfers. Ask about the level of cover they are providing, does it match what is outlined in your Event Safety Plan or does it exceed your cover requirement. It is important to remember that not all events require Paramedic level cover. Providers should be open and honest about the level of cover that they are providing, after all we should all be putting the safety of guests first!

Zulu Safety Limited was born out of love for all things medical and safety. The management team have events running through their blood as between them, they have over 30 years of experience in the Event Medical sector! Our passion is to provide the resources, knowledge and experience needed to ensure that event venues are as safe as possible. Guest safety really is at the core of what we do.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add To Event is one of our primary booking sources and we love it! The Event Medical sector is extremely competitive and the platform allows us to really sell ourselves when quoting for events, leading to successful bookings. If we had to pick an event, it would be a recent charity walking marathon event that we covered in London. The competitors were so amazing, and it was a privelidge to work along side the event organisers to make this event a success. The event went off without a hitch, and considering the extremely hot weather, everybody made it to the finish without any issues. In our opinion, a good event is one where we don't have to see any patients. Add To Event has been a real lifeline for us, and it is still growing as a platform and we are excited to see how it helps the industry.
