Everyone is encouraged to get involved, to have fun and to learn about the animals. They advise on what to check for this specific type of supplier, especially to ensure good animal welfare.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For Lion Learners to provide a quote for an animal encounter, we will need to know the following information:
Date and time of the event, the expected (estimated number of guests and their age range (as the latter allows us to consider the suitability of our animals) and the location and venue. We will also need to know if the venue is indoors or outdoors so that animal welfare considerations can be factored into the quote. I would then encourage event organisers to look into preferences for animals to be brought along, but we can do this together at the time of booking, where, we can use our experience to guide the host into what works best.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, we would ask the provider as to the intended guest's favourite animals and experience of animals, as this allows us to adapt the selection brought along to individual likes etc. We would also establish the style of event, as the animal encounter can be a presentation style, accompanied by hands-on with guests, or it can be a drop-in style. The latter is usually more common for events of two hours or more.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Starting a Lion Learners franchise was an opportunity to share my two passions in life; animals/nature and education. I have spent over twenty years working in education, whilst rescuing/volunteering in animal welfare settings in my spare time. Launching Lion Learners in the region has been amazing! Seeing the pleasure that animals bring to people of all ages is just such a wonderful way to spend your day.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Having just started Lion Learners in April 2019, I wasn't aware that such a site existed, and had been spending so much time generating interest in my service across the types of users of animal encounters. The site was recommended to me whilst at an event by a party organiser and it's been amazing as I can feel confident that the customers are in the regions in which I operate. At the time of writing, first confirmed bookings are only days away and I am so excited. Having no reviews (yet) can possibly be off-putting to other potential customers, so I'm hoping to encourage my up and coming booked events to provide a review. They will complement the reviews starting to build on my FaceBook page.
I also use another event lead site too, but what I like about Add to Event, is that you can choose how you use your credits. The Add to Event site staff have also been very helpful in these early days, with hints and tips and with guidance when setting up. I spend a lot of time on the road, and so being able to use the mobile platform, use templates as a starting structure for quite, and the sites in-built reminders are great for me as they enable me to keep track of enquiries, leads and bookings.
