What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

When I receive an enquiry, to be able to respond, I require the event date, times, location, the event type (e.g. birthday, staff party), the estimated number of guests and the services they are interested in (e.g. children's entertainment, fire show). From this information, I can create the perfect entertainment package to suit the customers requirements.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

As a customer it is good to ask questions. If there are things you don't understand, such as what PLI stands for, then ask. All entertainers should be happy to explain anything that you are unsure of. PLI stands for Public Liability Insurance which all performers must have, due to the nature of the skills. They should be able to provide you with a certificate of insurance and a risk assessment if required by your venue.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

High Voltage Events started without realising that I was running a business. While training at dance college, I started supplying stilt walkers and fire performers to the local night clubs. When I graduated, I took on my first big corporate client and from there I thought I should utilise my passion for performing and managerial skills and create a business. I love performing and making people happy; High Voltage Events is the perfect business for me.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have not been with Add to Event for very long, but this is by far the best platform I use as a business. I joined in April and have had 4 fantastic bookings! Three bookings were for children's party entertainment. Every child's party was different from the themes to the ages of the children. However, each were fantastic! The fourth booking was a 21st birthday providing a stilt walker and fire show. The birthday girl was very unsure about the stilt walking. However, when I finished the fire show at the event she told me the whole entertainment package was absolutely perfect. I recently was at an event where there were food companies and when I was chatting with one, they also said that Add to Event is the best website for bookings. She couldn't believe I have only just discovered the website! I will definitely continue to recommend Add to Event and I have the badge on my website.
