Based in Maidstone, Kent Kids Parties provides a mobile magic show and discos for a range of events across Kent and the South East. They have typically catered for birthday parties, school events, celebrations, Christenings and Christmas parties.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

It's always good to know the date, time and area. However, it's even better to have flexibility. We always say, the venue and time of party can have no consequence on the overall success but having the right entertainer will. So, it's always better to secure a great entertainer first - then find a hall.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Here's my top tips: 1) Look to hire a registered legitimate business - especially important with children. We see so many entertainment businesses popping up and when you look at their website there's no business address, no real name, sometimes just a mobile phone number. Do your research. 2. Look for consistent good reviews across the web. It's easy for entertainers to write their own reviews on their websites
so look at external sites like Google and Netmums to get a better picture. 3. Don't be easily taken in by entertainers who slash their prices to win your business. If people are only able to get work
by offering super-low prices you have to question their ability to do a good show. If the price looks too cheap, ask to go and see them before hiring them. You could discover, cheapness and quality rarely go hand in hand.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We've been in entertainment forever, starting in holiday part entertainment then moving onto London riverboats - to where we are now, running Kent Kids Parties. We now come to parties and events all across Kent and the south, from simple birthday parties right up to corporate events, weddings and clubs.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

The first booking I had via Add to Event was at a preschool Christmas party. There were about 40 children aged 2-4yrs and we had a whale of a time. The kids enjoyed some funny magic, dancing, party games and bubbles and there was lots of laughter. Lots of the mummies and daddies asked for business cards after the event so I'm sure I'll be seeing some of them in years to come as they start to have birthday parties.
