What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
When looking to quote for an event, there are quite a few things we need to know:
*Event Dates and Times. How early can we arrive to set up? When we can trade from, and when we can tidy up?
*Venue. Where is your event being held? What is the terrain like? We need a flat spot to park to keep the coffee machine happy!
*How many guests or visitors are you expecting? What will be the demographic of our customers?
*Is there power available? We have our own generator, but using mains power is much quieter.
*Are we to charge people individually, or will you pay in advance?
*Will have any competition for coffee and cake sales? ,
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Not all coffees were created equal! Nor every cake homemade!
If you are looking for proper coffee and sweet treats that will be a talking point at your event, instead of just filling a void, make sure you check out the feedback on their Facebook pages to make sure that they're working hard to give you the best taste for your or your visitor's bucks. You want to book people who love what they're doing and ensure every drink they offer is top notch. There's also a world of a difference between using fresh beans from independent roasters, or buying in bulk catering stock.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I come from a big family with several birthdays a month, and we have always been massive cake lovers. Coupled with a slightly obsessive love of coffee, and the realisation that it was difficult to get a decent coffee at most events, Procaffeinate Coffee and Cake Bar was born.
My background is event management, so taking the business on the road was the logical thing to do. Have coffee and cake, will travel!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had great success with Add To Event, our favourite being a delightful Open Day at Amisfield Garden in Haddington. It was a fabulous community event in the most beautiful setting.
