What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We need to have the date of the event, the number of guests, and timings.
Is it a private or corporate event, is it in a venue or at home?
What is the client expecting? Just a delivery, or do they need us to provide staffing, equipment hire, drinks and ice?
Does the client have a budget, is it a themed event, what are their expectations?
We want to make the event a special one and to add a personal touch to the arrangements.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is important to explain what type of menu would suit best the event, depending on the number of guests the timings of the event and that they can cater for all types of dietary requirements. Check all aspects of the event have been covered, for instance, that all the suppliers involved will be organised to be delivered on time, for example, the equipment hire company, the marquee company and the florist to the mobile fish and chip van and the pop-up pizza company as part of the entertainment! Check reviews and ask lots of questions.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Parsons is my maiden name and so this was how it started! I began working as a freelance chef and soon built up a good reputation with regular clients, both private and corporate who I still have as customers since 1993.
I then employed more staff depending on the level of business that came in and has kept a huge interest in food and the ambience of serving it is highly important. You are only as good as your last job!
I like what the business brings - meeting all types of interesting people and making their day or event a special one to remember!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I had my first confirmed booking earlier this week and we felt very privileged to provide the catering for a special party.
It went very well and the client was happy, so we are thrilled and hope that we can be called on again to help with another event.
Since then we have received two further bookings from other private clients for this coming week!
I first came across Add to Event when I needed some suppliers for a Wedding Event, and both suppliers were excellent, so I would always return to their platform if I need special suppliers and would always recommend them to others!
