Delightfully Delicious
Delightfully Delicious offer both savoury and sweet options depending on your event but is best known for serving crazy homemade shakes and delicious waffles. Products are served from an amazing horse trailer 'Leslie' who can be personalised to suit any type of event. They also serve up a few suggestions to think about when looking to book a provider for an event.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to be able to provide a comprehensive quote I need to know the number of guests, the type of event so I can add personal touches to my horse trailer to make it look the part for the event. I also need to know whether there are power and access to water or whether I need to provide that. Knowing whether the event is inside or outside is an important factor as the trailer needs to be outside unless you have a large indoor venue in which it could fit. After receiving this information we would be able to offer a comprehensive quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would ask the provider what type of product they offer and make sure it is of good quality. I would find out how they design their menu and find out if there were any way of personalising it to suit your needs. For example, although I have a menu of milkshakes and toppings for waffles that I can do I am also open to the customer requesting certain flavours they may want. You could also ask if their trailer/van could be decorated to match for example the colours of the wedding.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Delightfully Delicious was started after I was made redundant from my traineeship as a property surveyor due to a back problem that I had at the time. I wasn't enjoying myself at the company I was working for and then we found out my dad had cancer so it made me rethink what I wanted in life. I have always enjoyed baking and cooking and I love going to the street food markets as its always a great atmosphere there. So instead of opening a cafe, I decided to convert a horse trailer and serve waffles and milkshakes but to a high standard so that I could travel about Scotland attending various events. I always loved waffle and shakes growing up and I still love them now that I am an adult so it was the perfect combination to do in the trailer. I wanted to create a smart look in the trailer so when people see it they are impressed and I wanted to do the same with the products I make.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have only recently started the business so I haven't been on Add to Event long but already I have a had a great booking which for The Yard which is a new street food market in Perth. The first time it was on was last weekend and it was great. It was such a good atmosphere and went very smoothly especially for it being the first time it was held. I have a permanent spot there every Sunday so I am excited to see it grow and evolve. Everyone loved our products and were amazed at the design of our milkshakes, especially the children. I would highly recommend going to The Yard and I try my best to promote their social media posts etc so I can try to help the event grow.
