The Fish & Chip Catering Co provide high-quality, traditional fish and chip meals from the mobile van throughout Bedfordshire. In addition to standard fish and chips, their menu also includes veggie burgers as a vegetarian option. All meals are served in a biodegradable cardboard tray or can be served to a table with crockery.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to give the best service to our customers we need to know a few basics such as location and venue type, date, time and number of people. If we are not bidding for all of the food for the day, we need to know what else people have eaten. This will let us know if it will be a stampede or steady graze.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always look at their experience. Not just serving their chosen food type but also the type of events they have catered for. A wedding in a field for 400 is a very different challenge than a sit-down wedding for 100 and one not many caterers have successfully delivered. Unlike us! Just look at our reviews!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We started in wedding catering when we bred rare breed pigs doing hog roasts. That was 30 years ago!
We could see when we were just playing a small part of the day looking from the side-lines how poorly some services were delivered. We learnt those lessons and now have built a successful portfolio of foods and menus, including our fish and chip van, which we deliver to a lot of very happy customers.
