The Stable Bar offers a beautifully restored horsebox bar that will add a unique touch to your event. They specialise in weddings and parties and you can also find them at food fairs and markets.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote for a customer, there are a few things we would need to know. These include - event date, type of event they are hosting, estimated number of guests, potential venue, whether there may be access to power/water, whether it will be an outdoor or indoor event.
We understand that some of these details will change, but it will just help us to first establish whether this is an event we can attend, and then to organise a personalised quote.
The indoor/outdoor event questions is particularly important to us, as we are a converted horsebox so normally need to be situated outside.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would think about the type of guests that will be attending. For example, do they like a particular drink such as a brand of beer? or are you expecting several children or non-drinkers? If you let the provider know, they can ensure that they have a stock of the beer your guests drink or a stock of children's soft drinks.
When is the event being held? Is it for a particular theme? For example, we were asked to serve lots of Pimms during the Jubilee events last summer.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
The Stable Bar was lovingly converted by my husband after the birth of our youngest child. I have worked in many bars and pubs, but wanted to create something of my own. To be able to put my own stamp on something and create a beautiful, unique and fun bar that brings a little touch of magic to an event.
I pride myself on service and love going to meet clients before their event to make sure they know they are in good hands, and I can offer them the event they have been dreaming of.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I am pleased to say that I have had several successful bookings through Add to Event. If I had to pick one event that stood out, it was a wedding we attended during this summer.
The hosts were getting married at fairly short notice, only a few months to prepare for their big day. There were around 100 guests attending. I discussed the bar menu with them to ensure that they had the drinks they needed for their guests. The bride was particularly fond of a Pornstar Martini, so we made sure there were plenty of these. We made sure she had one in her hand at all times!
The hosts wanted to offer their guests a welcome drink, but their budget was a little tight. We arranged a suitable welcome drinks package that meant they could offer their guests a drink as they arrived, but didn't break their bank.
