Horsebox Bar Hire in Northamptonshire

The Little Box Co are a horsebox bar, serving up a variety of refreshing beverages from their Rice horsebox. They've taken some time out to share their story and their tips on what to consider when hiring a mobile bar for your event.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We encourage customers to provide us with as much information as possible so we can give a more accurate and personalised quote. The main things that assist us in providing a quote would be the dates, times & duration, party/wedding type and location. We also need to know if you would like an internal or external bar or both and the number of guest that will attend. Once we have confirmed our availability we can then quote and get your more detailed drink preferences to personalise the bar to your event/tastes.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You always need to consider what you are hoping to get out of your day and the setting. Most providers post pictures - does their bar fit in with the venue you have chosen - does their range of drinks fit in with your requirements - are their prices reasonable and within the budget of your guests? If they meet those requirements and are available, approach them and see how prompt and friendly they are and whether they can tailor their bar to personalise your event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The idea to start the Little Box Co sprung to life when we attended a christening where there was a mobile bar in attendance. It was a beautiful summers day and it just seemed a fantastic addition that made the occasion. We decided that the major limitation to what the bar could become would be size, so we sourced a slightly larger, three panel Rice horsebox which we had professionally converted and this has allowed us more fridge (Nobody likes warm beer or wine) and worksurface space to cater for larger parties. The dual openings and larger work area allows us to offer a wider selection of drinks and a dedicated general bar area for quick service and specific area for cocktails or speciality gins.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Just before Christmas we did a lights turn on at a new estate in Northampton. Having had a few problems and all being new to the area they had formed a residents association to try and create a sense of community. What started as a tentative gesture turned out to be an excellent evening with the majority of the residents turning out in force including school children choirs various craft stalls a food stand and a DJ. We had to restock Mulled wine twice as the numbers supporting the event completely overwhelmed the organisers. We have already been invited back next year and also to there first summer fete. To be part of an event where we experienced people coming together for the first time was a real privilege.
