Covering Yorkshire and surrounding areas, Spud Buddies is a mobile caterer that specialises in jacket potatoes with a wide variety of toppings. They cater for a range of events from private parties to larger events, such as weddings.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Ideally the time and date are a must, the number of guests to cater for and the requirements - e.g sit down or casual. The location would be also useful to know. Lastly, the client's phone numbers, as I always like to call them personally to chat about prices and exact needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Who are the suppliers of the products they sell could be a good question; we always use locally sourced meat from butchers.
How things are cooked and probably ratings for food health and hygeine ratings could be a good point.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Spud Buddies was set up on the strength of both of us working full time jobs. I love to see people's faces when we meet them, and give them our food; especially when I ask how the food was, everybody says 'amazing'. It makes us smile when all the preparation to get the food right makes it worth while. We strive to give 100% in what we provide and the appearance of our mobile unit.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had some good requests for our unit. We have taken some good bookings since starting with Add to Event. I have friends in Scotland who are starting out in a mobile catering business and will be passing on the details - informing them about how easy it is to make bookings and send requests.
