El Huichol
El Huichol provides authentic Mexican food from their mobile food van throughout Cornwall and beyond. Though the menu is taco and quesadilla based, the menu can be made bespoke to suit most tastes on request. With chefs who trained in Jamie Oliver's establishments now creating nutritious Mexican catering within their custom food van, El Huichol aims to bring an authentic taste to an increasingly popular cuisine. Able to attend events of any shape or size, El Huichol can even provide pinatas and tequila tasting events to really spruce up the event and make it memorable for each and every guest.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
The Add to Event framework suffices for us each time, so stick to their guidance, try to be comprehensive and specify any dietary requirements upfront - the rest should unfold smoothly. Specify the number of guests, type of food and your budget. From this we can decide if we are able to quote based on the variables provided.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be thorough, and remember that communicating with your potential provider is key! If you like a cuisine, try to work with food providers as if you'd prefer an alternative dish, most are flexible. Remember that with food you very much get what you pay for, so cutting corners on costs here can have big consequences further down the line.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We at El Huichol love serving people. One of us is from a chef background and the other from business. Together we wanted to set ourselves free from the daily grind but also wanted to make food that touched people. So far we've been bowled over by the support and response we've had from our local communities and the events that we've served for, so...more of that, we say!!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We've had a few bookings through Add to Event so far and they've all panned out great. We're waiting on a few reviews to come through yet, but that's to be expected. The expectations we had were met each time. I've personally recommended it to a few truck mates of ours so I'm sure they'll be great referees too - The next thing Add to Event should get into is booking weather!
