What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote, I need to know the type of event such as party or show and if they are looking for a Disco or PA system. The size of venue is important too in order to determine the power of sound equipment necessary. Information on the power availability within the venue is crucial in order to determine that sufficient power is available for the sound and lighting required. Your venue can supply this information to you.

I need to know if the disco is for a wedding or a birthday party, what preference there is for music and if the client wants to create a personal play list.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask your provider how much time they need to set up from arrival and unloading to being ready to go.
Speaking of equipment, ask if their equipment is PAT tested. If it is a children's birthday party, can they supply music for games and can they M.C such games? If the PA system is for a band or similar situations can they provide lights as well as sound equipment?
