What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to tailor a quote specifically to our customers needs, ideally we require the date of the function, a brief description of the type of event, an idea of the genres of music they will require, an estimated number of guests, the venue details, the type of venue and a rough idea of the age range of the guests. These details enable us to put together a dhow dedicated to your exact needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The most important advice I can give to anyone looking to hire entertainment, is not to book a provider solely on cost. Ask relevant questions, what's included in the cost, how many years have they been DJ'ing, what sort of functions have they done, are they insured, are they PAT tested, do they issue contracts. Don't rely solely on emails, talk to the provider directly. We have all seen the great photos some providers put on social media sites, so never take a provider at face value. Always try to do a little research on the provider first.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

MK2 Entertainments started as MK Discotheques way back in 1984 when I was a mere 12 year old, so you could say that the entertainments industry is now a way of life. Since then we have taken many roads within the industry but have always tried to stay true to our humble roots. The driving force behind MK2 since the very first gig has been the reaction a good disco can have on people, the look on there faces, the excitement and their obvious enjoyment.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have not been with Add to Event that long, but I'm really surprised at how many gigs I have already gained. I have been with several other companies that offer a similar service to Add to Event, all of which have come to nothing, yet I have taken numerous bookings through Add to Event already. I can't recommend this site enough. I would say if you have not gained a booking yet just persevere and you will.
