What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the event including any mood boards they may have created on Pinterest. Estimated numbers of guests and timings is always good too, and the kind of style of shots you like.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the photographer about their experience. Ask them what National Governing bodies or institutions they are part of, as most good photographers belong to an organisation that regulates their quality and conduct. Lastly find out what they do in terms of insurance and backup.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

MJP happened because I wanted to take my passion for creating awesome images and apply it to an area where I felt i’d been let down in the past. I knew I could do better than what was already out there, and still be competitive and relevant whilst providing a great experience.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We were recently booked by a cake company to cover their Christmas party. We over exceeded their expectations, by not only arriving well before the start of the event to set up and check the location, but we also provided Christmas themed photo mounts at no extra cost. Going out of your way for the client makes you stand out from the crowd, and it’s something we always try and do.
