What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to provide a firm price to a customer, I need the date of the event, a brief description of the type of event, the venue or location and what type of photographer they are looking for. I.e traditional, or journalistic. I would also need to know the budget they have available for the photographer and what they expect to be provided from that budget. The hours they require the photographer for is always helpful, as well as the expected start and finish time of the event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask if the photographer is available. Then lead on to other questions that you want to be answered such as what is included in the price and are references available that you can read. Can you view complete weddings that have been photographed? Is the photographer experienced, do they have any qualifications and are they insured for wedding and event photography. Do they require meals and is travel costs included. Make a list before contacting the photographer.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I was always the kid with a camera. From the early day school trips to family days out - they are all captured and documented into family albums that I still have. As time went on my images increased into thousands. During this time, I found a style of photography that I liked and that style involved photographing people. It was a natural progression for me into wedding and event photography and Eyes2Me photography was born from the passion of photographing people.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I recommend Add to Event to others. It's been a good source of focused customers for my photography business. It's early days for me to use this platform, but already have a couple of customers lined up with some great venues that I'm looking forward to photographing this year. The clients have been amazing and knew what they want from me to photograph for them. There are castles, barns, and garden parties to be photographed that are something different from my usual local venues.
