They have some good tips to help when you may be looking to hire a similar caterer for an occasion.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

As a small company, we don’t do “one-size-fits-all” quotations. All our catering is bespoke and personally designed for you. We take the time to speak with our clients, so that we design, quote and deliver the perfect menu that reflects the season, available facilities, likes and dislikes, number of guests and special dietary requirements.

Don’t worry, our personalisation does not make us more expensive than other caterers. It just means you get a very personal service from start to finish.

Once we have spoken, we will create a bespoke event plan for you reflecting everything we discussed, with menu suggestions and a quotation for your consideration

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When comparing quotes, be mindful of comparing apples with apples. What is included or excluded? Are there any hidden charges? Is VAT included?

Try and build a rapport with your caterer. You should not "just" be another number. You are an individual and this event is special and personal to you. the right caterer will truly understand that and will want to ensure that everything is as you like it.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

My passion for food stems from coming from a butcher's family. So from an early age, I learned a deep appreciation of good food, quality of ingredients, their provenance and food bringing families together.

Being Dutch, growing up in Belgium and working in an international corporate environment once I moved to England 30 years ago deepened my understanding of different cuisines across the globe.

Food has always been my passion, but I only took the plunge to make it my full-time business a few years ago. I may no longer earn the 6-figure salary, but my days working with and for my clients are rich and extremely rewarding.

Cooking, teaching, creating dishes and menus are in my heart and in my soul. Sharing it with my clients means everything to me.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Every booking we get is special for a different reason. Be it the Stag of 13 in rented accommodation on the South Coast where the stag himself never even made it to the table and the electricity kept dropping out; or my regular client in Chelsea where I have the luxury of a French butler serving each course, or the surprise 80th birthday dinner, where the menu included all her favourites, secretly created with her daughter.

I particularly love it when I have the pleasure of introducing my clients to my Dutch-Indonesian Rijsttafel Special, a true feast for the senses.
