Based in Shirley in the West Midlands, The Wandering Pizza Co is a mobile pizza van hirer that specialises in woodfired pizzas and caters for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and festivals.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We want our quote to be unique to you! To do that we would need the number of guests, location, and times of service. This will ensure we tailor a quote to your needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look closely at what they are offering, how are they planning on serving the food. Are they charging by the guest or for a fixed amount of time. Read the reviews, and any testimonials, as this will give you a good idea of other clients experiences. If you have a specific pizza or menu in mind, talk to them. The chances are they will be able to give you a sample.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Wandering Pizza Co was created by myself and my partner Laura. We owned a restaurant that had a wood-fired oven and our love for pizza grew from there. We love vintage vehicles and wood-fired pizza so decided to combine the two. Giving people a unique and tasty treat. We started with our 3 wheeled Piaggio Ape, which got booked up pretty quickly, so we have now just finished our new project a vintage VW that allows us to have the capacity for larger events.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Wow that's really tough to choose, Add to Event has provided us with so many wonderful events. OK I'm going to cheat and say 2. We had the chance to provide pizzas for the day after a big birthday in Great Missenden, the sun was shining on this beautiful farm house, and we served all afternoon. We then packed up and headed back to Birmingham to make pizzas for a wedding party in the evening. The couple were a dream to work with from start to finish. Add to Event was the perfect spring board for us. We booked our first wedding through this, and have continued to pick up more and more events, right through until next year. If we get a direct request through email, I refer on to Add to Event as it's great for the client and for the caterers.
