Based in Birmingham in the Midlands, Skyrocket Pizza is a wood fire mobile pizza caterer that caters for a range of events, from weddings to birthday parties. They will tailor their service and menu to cater for the individual event.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote we need the event date & type, location and setting, amount of people attending (if this is a public event then expected footfall is helpful). Ideally we also need to know how many other caterers there are if it is a public event. We also need to know how much space there is available for our setup. Availability of water and power is useful, however we can supply our own generator.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ideally, I would want to know their experience in the particular field and the types of events that they normally attend. Asking about the menu is important as that opens up discussion about bespoke catering options. Often people don't ask about how many people the can be catered for within a given time - that's always useful to know! Enquiring about availability is also helpful.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Skyrocket Pizzas was born out of a visit to the Peak District where we first saw a wood-fired pizza stand on a campsite! Myself and my husband love pizza and decided that this was a business we would love to run back in our local area. We did lots of research and started the business over three years ago. We have catered for a wide variety of events such as beer festivals, cycle races, weddings, birthdays, music festivals....and many more. Our aim is to create amazing pizzas for everyone to enjoy as part of their event.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We love using Add to Event, and our very first wedding event came from the site. We had a great time cooking evening pizzas for Kathy and her husband, in a field just outside their venue. We met lots of lovely people and had rave reviews about our pizzas and service. I have recommended Add to Event to friends who own a mobile horse box bar and they love it too! I check the events daily and find the website really easy to use.
