What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We like to be able to speak to the event organiser to get a feel for the type of food they envisage at their event. We could put together a menu that includes Tapas style options, a formal sit-down plated food affair, buffets etc. It's really important to know the type of thing the organiser has in mind and if they have a feel for what type of world cuisine they prefer.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask yourself - do they reflect your ethos? We always use locally sourced food, that's really important to us, And to most of our customers! Be very clear about exactly what service you require - put together a list, and make sure that's relayed to the supplier. For example, if we were serving food, would you also like us to stay and do the washing up?

Know your budget, or at the very least know a budget range.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

My husband and I both had different careers, but really had this niggling feeling that food is what we wanted to do. When we moved to Frome 10 years ago we set up a supper club, and from there our food adventures began. They have been so popular and so we decided it was about time we did it full time.

We now cater weddings, private parties and a few festivals, as well as cooking for a cafe in the town. We've never been happier.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We did a super-creative kids birthday party, the theme was Woodland so every single thing on the table was fashioned to look like a different woodland creature. It was literally the most amazing catering gig we've ever done - if you're up to something really creative, let us run wild!!!
