What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to provide a full quote I would require the date of the event. The number of guests would be helpful but not essential. If the venue has been chosen the details of this would be good. Details regarding the type of ceremony required would be great then I could prepare some ideas before meeting with you.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would find out if they have been trained as a celebrant. There are many people who are working as celebrants but have not been trained. I would find out if they are a member of a trade body. To become a member the celebrant will generally have to have been trained which shows they have a good understanding and knowledge of celebrancy.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I was tired of seeing couples receiving ceremonies that were very standard and didn't have the couple within them. I believed that by becoming a celebrant I would be able to offer ceremonies that put the couple completely at the heart of the ceremony. The couple create the ceremony with my help, but ultimately it is their design.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

The bookings are amazing. I had a lovely couple contact me, after talking to a few other celebrants they were becoming a little disillusioned. They had asked for certain elements to be added within their ceremony but were told that they were expecting too much for the time they had. They also wanted several of the guests to play major parts within their ceremony but again the celebrants tried to put them off this and reduce the amount of people. I explained to them that it was their wedding ceremony celebration and what they want goes. It turned out to be an amazing and super special day, as they all are. I have since had the privilege of performing a naming ceremony for their first child. I love the fact that this couple were able to find me through Add to Event and many more couples have done so.
