Nel van Huyssteen Photography is a Hetfordshire based photography business, but are happy to travel UK wide. Here they share some useful tips on what makes a great photographer and what you should be looking for in a supplier.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for me to give you a comprehensive quote, I would like to know how many hours of coverage you would like. A full day wedding from bridal prep through to the first dance typically takes 10 hours. Your number of guests are important as I would normally recommend a second photographer if you have more than 100 guests to make absolutely sure all angles are covered.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are serious about the quality of your wedding photos make sure to hire a professional wedding photographer. Not all professional photographers are good at capturing weddings. Preferably they should have had some specialist training in this field. Professionals must have the best professional cameras with top quality lenses to capture your special moments. I use 2 Sony mirrorless cameras on the day as they are one of the best and most popular cameras to capture weddings professionally.
Your photographer should also have public liability insurance of at least £2,000,000.

I live and breathe photography! I just love capturing people in "the moment".
Your wedding is one of the most special days in your life and I adore capturing all your moments in a natural storytelling way.
Every wedding is different even ones at the same location. There is always a challenge, some mayhem and never a dull moment.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have recently joined the Add Event platform and already have a booking! It was really easy to submit an estimate for my client.
