What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Speaking from a wedding photographer's perspective, the more details a client can provide the more accurate the quote will be. Such as the date and location of the wedding, bride getting ready start time, groom getting ready start time and location (If it's going to be somewhere else), if they want a portrait session, ceremony venue and start time, reception venue and start time, number of the guests and if they need the photographer to stay until the end of the party or first dance.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If I was to hire a wedding photographer, the first thing I would do is to look at their portfolio and understand their photographic style. If their portfolio matches the style I want then I'd view their packages. After deciding on the right package I'd contact the photographer to check their availability and organize a video call. Organizing a video call is really important to get to know them a little bit better and to see if you are the right fit. Because you wouldn't want to hire someone you can't get along, to be around you all day in the end.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Back in 2015, one of my best friends asked me to shoot their wedding. On that day I realized this is what I'd want to do for the rest of my life. With the portfolio I had from that wedding I was able to start booking paid clients on the weekends besides my day job. In mid 2017 I decided to quit 9 to 5 and focus merely on photography.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I am still waiting for my first booking through Add to Event yet. But I believe in this platform. When I contact the customer support team to ask why I can't get any bookings they were incredibly positive and constructive. They had a look at my listing, gave me very helpful feedback and provided me lots of information to help me get more bookings. I believe the bookings will follow if I implement those ideas into my listing.
