About Murray May's
Murray May's serves charcoal grilled meats and aubergines from a 1987 ex-military Mercedes ambulance. Our van, `Nessie, is an eye-catching and unique looking van, a great addition to any event!
Murray May's is owned and run by Ewan 'Murray' and Thecla 'May'. Previous to starting up our mobile food business we ran a high-end catering company in Ibiza for three summers, catering for private events, photo shoots, parties and weddings. Most recently Ewan has been head chef of a hugely successful waterside restaurant in Bristol, winning 'Best Breakfast' in Bristol and shortlisted for 'Best Tapas'.
Our menu is 'Silk Road' inspired. Recent trips to Istanbul have heavily influenced our food. We have an authentic Turkish mangal grill installed in our van, on which we cook our meats and aubergines, infusing a wonderful smokey charcoal flavour. All our food is accompanied with homemade sauces, pickled salads, dukkah and flatbreads. One of our bestsellers is the Chicken Shish- 24 hour harissa yoghurt marinated chicken, served with butternut squash hummus, pink pickled onions, seasoned labneh, pickled salad, flatbread and dukkah. All our meat is locally and ethically sourced, and free range. We are able to tailor menus to suit your event, so please do not hesitate to ask!
We provide evening food for private parties, functions, weddings, and street food markets.
