What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to prove a quote to a customer, I will need to know the date of the event, and where the event will be held (whether it's in a pub, club, social, private house). The start and finish time of the event. A small explanation of the type of event they are hosting with a rough estimate of the number of guests.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, read the providers profile and the information they have given, and then have a look at their reviews on all platforms, this will give you an idea of how professional they are in their work and if they are up for the job at hand. Give a maximum budget you are willing to work so no one's time is wasted.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started DJing when I was 16 years old when I started my promotional business. I ran the biggest college events network in the UK for 4 years. I learnt how to DJ through the DJs I used to book and carried on from there. I love events and music and my passion is still strong 15 years on. Starting my career so young I have experienced every type of event and music genre and so my collection is extensive.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event have always been great and I have received many bookings through them. One of the stand-out bookings was a wedding I did out in the sticks. The groom contacted me 2 weeks before his wedding due to his original DJ cancelling on him. I reassured him straight away I was available and will carry out the job better than any other DJ. I had to liaise with a band and two instrumentalists. The wedding went on for 6 hours and the evening was a success.
