Passion food events are a bespoke, high-quality catering company with an extensive background in weddings and events, restaurants and corporate parties. Based in the East Midlands they share their story below plus some great advice on what to check in when looking for a similar provider.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Passion Food Events work on bespoke offerings and although we can provide set menu ideas we prefer to work with our clients to ensure we can match their budget, theme, style and food preferences. It really helps us to quote accordingly if we know your likes/dislikes, the type of food you'd like to be served, how many guests, whether there are any children, the level of service you require, where the event will be - will the event be indoors or outdoors, and what amenities can we access.
We have extensive experience catering for all types of events and the more we know the more we can help produce your perfect event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Research, research, research! If you want to be confident in the Service provider make sure you do a little digging behind the scenes. Look for reviews, ask for certificates, ask for business registration details and check out the company's house website. You want to be confident you are using a legitimate company with a traceable history - even if the company is less than a year old they can be great but ensure you research the company owners- what their background is, what experience they have, do they have a passion for what they do?
Most importantly don't be afraid to ask questions - experienced, knowledgeable and talented suppliers will only be too happy to answer confidently.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Passion Food Events has been 20 years in the making. Fraser and Emily met in Leeds way back in 1998, whilst Fraser was working in Michelin starred, Rascas, (he said he was a fireman!) and Emily a final year student at Leeds Met. They cemented their relationship with the help of their passion for food, travel and music.
After graduating from Uni then completing a Business Management course, Emily and Fraser spent the next couple of years working, eating and dancing their way around the globe. Fraser’s skills developed and each new destination and restaurant he worked in taught different cuisines and styles.
Emily focussed on the wine (nothing has changed!) getting a job as a wine rep in Australia and then “getting lost” in the Marlborough region of New Zealand. She also spent time running a greengrocers in Sydney, and a cafe in Auckland.
Together they have run little neighbour bistros, catered for formal black tie events, hosted evenings with a variety of celebrities and sporting legends, and catered all scales of the spectrum from kids birthday parties to premiere launch parties of over 300 guests, weddings and corporate events, and now their new pop up food stalls. Whatever they have done the aim is always the same - for all customers to love and enjoy their dining experience.
Passion food events is a truly professional, experienced and innovative catering company, with a conscious mindset towards sustainability, wellbeing and respect for all.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is a great platform to promote your services, attracting a wider audience, and enabling suppliers to easily put together quotes for new clients.
Although having used Add to Event for less than a year we have had several enquiries through the platform. Our first booking through Add to Event was taken in February this year, which we recently hosted. The event was for a private dining experience for 17 guests in a stunning farmhouse holiday let, to celebrate a 30th birthday party. We catered for 5 courses, served al fresco and all the guests were extremely complimentary and enjoyed the evening immensely - as did we! The location was beautiful, the weather was warm and balmy, and everything went smoothly - all in all a perfect event for both guests and us!
