What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To give as accurate as possible a quote we would need the following information. The date of the party and where it's being held. How long you want me to play for. Does the venue have it's own sound and lighting or do you need me to supply my own? (if you're not sure we can contact the venue to find out.)

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

First & most importantly, you need someone who is reliable. Ask about back up equipment. Ask if they have public liability insurance and PAT tested equipment. Many venues insist on this and it's also a good indicator of the professionalism of the supplier.
Make sure they are able (and willing) to play the music YOU want.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Spotlight Disco owner and DJ Wayne Everett began, like many disco services, playing at house parties for friends with a 100w sound system and no lights. We soon started to get bigger and better gigs so needed to invest in better equipment. We now have up to 2.5K sound system available & an excellent light show (we're still happy to do smaller ones though)
Throughout the long journey to where we are now, we have always maintained the importance of good customer service and reliability

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My first job through Add to Event was a 50th birthday party in February 2019. A customer had some specific requirements regarding music which I was happy to cater for. After an excellent review, it was easier to get more work. I've just taken on another job today and enquiries are coming in daily.

The business model of Add to Event is not unique but in terms of service and value it's by far the best I have used. A great service for suppliers and clients.
