What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The information I need to send a quotation is date of event, venue, type of event and approximate number of people attending. Once I have these, I can give the client an exact quote for their required services.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If possible, have a chat with the DJ either over the telephone or, preferably, in person. Creating a relationship and getting the feeling for what the mobile DJ might be able to offer you will give you reassurance that the service you are looking for will be delivered in accordance to your expectations and requirements.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been a club DJ since the 1980's as well as being a DJ onboard large cruise ships around the world. Being a mobile DJ business is an opportunity to use that professional experience as my own business, whilst also dealing with customers and creating relationships, something I enjoy doing.

Since I signed up to Add to Event I have had a considerable number of queries, with 2 of them resulting in actual bookings so I am very happy with the way it's working out so far.
