What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
As much information as possible really! We need to know where the event is and what type of event it is. The estimated number of people is really important as well as the overall budget/ budget per head. Any dietary requirements or special requests too.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Garner & Graze is very ingredient-focused, as most of the food we supply is ready to eat - it's so important to us that we're using the highest quality foods, from brilliant, reputable, local suppliers. so ask what foods are available, where they're from. we're also very eco-minded, so ask what's a providers sustainability stance?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I've always loved cooking for people and entertaining. My friends would always ask for my advice on party food, and I'd often offer to do the catering just because I love it so much. I created some grazing boards for my best friends birthday party and everyone loved them so much. I put them on Instagram and they blew up. I had so much fun doing it and I realised I might be onto something. People had always told me I should have my own catering business and one day I finally took the leap and started Garner & Graze, and now here we are!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We booked a huge job with a really cool brand to cater to their Christmas party, which I'm so excited about. We also recently catered to a hen party, which was so lovely, and it went super well. I would definitely recommend Add to Event to others. I think it's especially good if you offer a wide variety of services as there are new jobs all the time!
